Ca-PRI 2025 is coming to Manchester
Dates: Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th April 2025
Theme: Cancer Innovation, Inequalities and Interdisciplinary Care
Location: The Lowry, Salford, Manchester
We are pleased to announce that Ca-PRI 2025 is taking place in Manchester.
Over two days, we’ll explore the latest developments and insights in primary care research with a key focus on innovations in cancer, cancer inequalities and interdisciplinary care. You’ll also have the chance to network with leading primary care professionals and researchers from across the world.
Ca-PRI 2025 - submit an abstract
Abstract submissions for Ca-PRI 2025 are now open. We are looking for the most innovative primary care cancer research to share with clinicians, researchers, policy leaders, cancer charities, and patient and public representatives from across the globe.

If it is your first time using Oxford Abstracts, you need to create an account before submitting your application.
The word limit for abstracts is 400 words.
You can submit one of the following abstract types:
- Oral abstract: ten-minute oral research abstract presentation with two minutes for questions and discussion
- Lightning talk: three-minute oral research abstract presentation with one minute for questions
- Poster: Research poster presentation with a brief oral presentation
- Workshop: one-hour Interactive session focused on a cancer-related topic
- Symposium: one-hour session with a mix of didactic and interactive content for a specific cancer topic
Please note: all abstract sessions will have PC computers, projector and digital screens for presentations. Workshops and symposiums can have flipcharts with paper and markers if needed.
Please use the following sub-headings in your abstracts –
Oral abstract/Lightning talk/Poster:
- Background
- Aim
- Methods
- Results
- Implications for practice/policy
Workshop/Symposium:
- Background
- Aim
- Session outline
- Intended outcomes
All abstracts will be peer reviewed and judged against the following criteria:
- Innovation, Inequalities & Interdisciplinary Care – how well does the abstract fit with the conference theme?
- Methodological rigour – what is the quality of methods utilised in this research?
- Relevance to primary care – how relevant is the research to improving cancer care in primary care?
- Potential for impact – how likely is the research to improve outcomes for patients?
- Patient & Public Involvement – how well were patients and/or members of the public involved in the research?
- Clarity – how clear is the abstract structured and presented?
Please submit your abstracts by 12pm on Friday 1st November 2024.
Registration will open in November 2024, so watch this space.

There are several ways to get to The Lowry and we encourage all delegates to use public transport where possible.
By tram
From Manchester Piccadilly Train Station, you can take a tram (Metrolink) from Piccadilly Gardens tram stop. Board the Eccles-bound tram and alight at the Salford Quays tram stop. From there, The Lowry is just a short walk away. Follow signs to the Lowry Outlet Mall, and you’ll easily find The Lowry nearby.
By bus
From Piccadilly Gardens you can take the X50 bus from Stop K and ride 8 stops to The Imperial Way Museum. From there The Lowry is a short 7-minute walk.
By walking
If you’re already in Salford Quays or nearby, you can reach The Lowry on foot within a 15 minute walk. Follow signs to The Lowry Outlet Mall and The Lowry is directly opposite.
Manchester Airport is well served by the various modes of transport that run daily from the city centre. These include train services running to and from the airport to Manchester Piccadilly every 10 minutes, which take around 20 minutes. There are also 9 bus services running to and from the city centre to the airport which operate 24 hours a day.
