Dr Laura Woodhouse

Clinical Research Training Fellow

As a Clinical Research Training Fellow, Laura is immersed in the world of cancer research, driven by a personal commitment to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives.

With a background that includes an MRes in Cancer Sciences and medical training, Laura has merged clinical expertise with a passion for investigation.

Her journey started with an intercalated MRes during my undergraduate medical degree at The University of Newcastle, leading to research placements and valuable skills gained. After general medical training in London, she joined The Christie NHS Foundation Trust as an Oncology Registrar, where she’s spent the last three years.

Currently pursuing a PhD under the supervision of Professor David Wedge and Dr. Colin Lindsay, Laura’s focus is on personalised medicine and biomarker identification, specifically in lung cancer patients with KRAS mutations. This computer-based research involves bioinformatics and collaboration across the Oglesby Cancer Research Building and clinical settings at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
