Translational Research Manager

Kate Brown is a Translational Research Manager at the CRUK Lung Cancer Centre of Excellence in Manchester. She leverages her extensive experience to propel the RAS-lab team forward. With a background in designing and delivering translational and interventional trials, Kate specialises in providing strategic guidance, de-risking projects, and optimising proposals to secure translational funding and industry investment.

In her supportive role for researchers, she offers practical assistance encompassing regulatory advice, project plan development, and support for funding and regulatory applications. Her commitment extends to comprehensive, ongoing project management support, ensuring the seamless execution of translational projects.

Joining The Christie in 2019, Kate transitioned her skills to contribute to unravelling the molecular-driven nature of lung cancer within the Lung Cancer Research Trials Team. Her expertise from designing interventional nutritional-genomic trials has provided valuable insights into precision medicine, tailored for lung cancer patients.

With a PhD in Human Evolutionary Genetics from University College London and a BSc in Medical Genetics from the University of Leicester, Kate is dedicated to advancing scientific understanding in the dynamic field of translational research.
