Bullying and Harassment Policy

Oglesby Cancer Research Building front at night

At the MCRC, we believe that the best science is born out of an open, inclusive, collegial and safe environment. We believe that bullying, harassment and discrimination of any kind are never OK and have no place in a society. Each of the MCRC’s partner institutions have anonymous support in place for anyone who has experienced bullying or harassment of any kind.

The University of Manchester

The University has a Zero Tolerance policy towards the many guises of bullying and harassment. This includes disablism, racism, sexism homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and religious discrimination. The University has set up many ways to Report and Support any acts of bullying and discrimination in an anonymous manner.

If you need to report anything anonymously or want to speak to an advisor, please contact Report & Support

The Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute

The CRUK MI has a ‘Respect at Work Policy’ that is available to all students and staff, and is available through the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute intranet.

In addition, the HR departments at the CRUK MI and Doctoral Academy can also be contacted if you wish to speak to anyone.

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust

The Christie has trained staff advisors on hand to provide advice in line with the Trust’s Respect at Work policy. Further details can be found on The Christie intranet.
